Handmade Mittlet™ Protective Mitten Gloves for SPECIAL NEEDS children and adults


Developed especially for special need children and adults, these mittens provide protective gear for scratching and biting. Mittens are sized with extra wiggle room for fingers and thumb. The adjustable wrist strap uses velcro™ to help keep mittens in place.

Select your favorite fabric and desired thickness. I will machine quilt the fabric to your specification and then sew them up to the size that you are request. Available with or without ribbons (I will match them to the fabric for you), the possibilities are endless!

Each mitten also features hand blanket-stitching at the bottom for a little extra special touch.

These are custom order mittens. At time of purchase, please send me the following measurements from the diagram:

A) Measure all the way AROUND the wrist at a comfortable spot and grip. This will be the target size for the wrist so don't make it too tight or too loose -- imagine the person wearing a watch at this spot.
B) Measure from the TALLEST part of the hand to the center point of the wrist. This will be the basis for the overall height of the gloves.
C) Measure across the WIDEST part of the hand at a comfortable pose. This will be the basis for the overall width of the gloves.

I will add a little variance for wiggle room and to allow for air flow.

If I do not receive this information, I cannot make your mittens.

Mittens are made by the pair. Insert hand into each mitten and adjust velcro™ strap to tighten around each wrist.


Care instructions:

Machine wash in cold or warm water. Tumble dry low or line dry flat.

Occasional washes in hot water may be used to provide extra sanitary measures.

I take pride in quick shipping of in stock items. In stock orders placed before noon Central time are generally shipped the same day. Otherwise, they will ship the next business day.

Items not deliverable or returned to me for incorrect address (I ship directly off of the address you provide) will be held for 45 days after purchase. After that time, the order will be marked complete. It is your responsibility to send me a corrected address within 30 days of purchase, but I will email you if I receive a package that is returned. This policy has been added since a few customers have waited 3-6 months before responding to me -- and my inventory has typically rolled over by then.

Custom items are dependent upon current order backlog and will ship as soon as the item is made. I do try to give an estimated ship date when an order is placed.

Due to the custom nature of my items, refunds for handmade items are not typically accepted.

At certain times during the year, I do accumulate a rather large backlog. If you are unable to wait for a custom order to be completed, I will cancel your order IF it has not been started yet.

If you have any concerns regarding your purchase, I will do my best to resolve any issues through repair or replacement of the item as needed.

HOW QUICKLY ARE ITEMS MADE? I typically have a backlog of orders (orders come in faster than I can make them.) As such, please check my information page where I try to update my backlog schedule on a weekly basis. This information will tell you how far behind I currently am and when you may expect your item to be produced.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU SHIP ITEMS? I do my best to ship stock items EVERY BUSINESS DAY (does not include Saturday or Sunday.) Items purchased BEFORE NOON Central Time are usually shipped same day. Handmade items depend upon the backlog in my store, but I try to get these out as quickly as possible -- but I have to make them first!

DO YOU OFFER RETURNS? Absolutely no returns on CUSTOM ORDERS OR SALE PRODUCTS unless I have made something in error (such as misspelled your name on an embroidered item, made with the wrong fabric, etc)

Stock items may be returned if they are in NEW and UNUSED condition. You MUST contact me within 7 days of receipt and BEFORE you return the item(s) within 14 days of sale. If you do not contact me before returning your item(s), your returns will be assessed a 25% restocking fee. Shipping charges are NOT REFUNDED on returns, and you must send the item back at your own cost unless I am at fault.

WILL YOU MAKE SOMETHING NOT SHOWN IN YOUR STORE? Yes! I will try my best to accommodate any special requests! Several of my products resulted from custom order requests.
